Scholarships

The Rise Early Learning Center will provide high-quality early childhood education (ECE) to 62 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Rise Early recognizes that childcare is expensive and that a high-quality center is often out of reach financially for families with low incomes in our community. Scholarships and enrollment will be prioritized for children from families with fewer resources and those who are residents of Rise on 7, improving access to Rise Early programming.

All families who live at Rise on 7 and attend the Rise Early Learning Center will have incomes at or below 60% of the area median income (AMI). Based on current CommonBond resident demographics, we also expect that most families will represent Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities and will hold other historically excluded intersecting identities. Rise Early is dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education that is accessible to all children.

Rise Early is dedicating at least half of the available spaces for children in families with low incomes, providing scholarships to ensure enrollment and bridge the affordability gap. Twelve of the childcare spaces will be dedicated first to families who live at the affordable housing community. We anticipate 25+ children will receive scholarships that offset approximately 50% of their tuition.

I never thought I would have a Master degree, run an early childhood teacher development program, be working toward a doctorate, write a book, or sit on the board of a revolutionary program like Rise Early. I was able to accomplish this as a single mother because of the help I received. I am involved in Rise Early because I want more people to have access to the kind of support I needed.
